One of the things I find hard about being a country girl based in London, is finding clothes which manage to bridge both sides of my life. I look for practical pieces but also want them to be classic and beautiful, Hicks & Brown does just this!

Alice and Rosie started Hicks & Brown with a pop-up shop at the Suffolk County Show in 2014 and since then have grown from strength to strength, having won ‘Best Dressed Trade Stand’ at the 2016 Royal Windsor Show. They are best known for their stunning fedora hats. If you've attended any of the race meets so far this year then I'm absolutely certain you will have seen them popping up all over the place.

I fell in love with Hicks & Brown last year and was lucky enough that Alex picked up on all the hints I was dropping and bought me one of their gorgeous Suffolk Fedora Hats for Christmas. The first thing I noticed was the fantastic quality of the woollen felt. It's sturdy but also lovely and soft to the touch. The combination of feathers are beautiful and are attached really well, I don't feel like they are going fall off if they get caught in the wind.

Alex got me the Dark Brown but there is a lovely selection of colours to choose from. The brown works perfectly with my waxed jacket and Dubarry Boots for long country walks, but it also looks lovely with a smart camel coat when I'm in London. I plan on treating myself to either the grey or black with guinea wrap. I think it will look great with the black wool coat I wear to work in the winter.

They don't just do hats though. They have a gorgeous selection of belts, gilets, jackets and accessories. I absoleulty fell in love with the Acido Gold Cow Hide Clutch Bag. It's perfect for nights out, trips to the pub and just generally those days when you don't want to carry around a cumbersome handbag, but you want to take the essentials with you. I have used my clutch for nights out in London and also days out in the countryside.

The latest addition to the collection and first on my wish list for summer, is the gorgeous Aldeburgh Fedora. It's perfect for the summer and I know its going to look great with both jeans and dresses.

All in all Hicks & Brown stand out as one of my favourite brands of the moment. The products look great in both town and country, they are beautiful and also fantastic quality. What more could you want.
